Carlson Wireless Technologies Updates:

Sheriff's Department Installs Trailblazer Wireless Leased Line Emulator System

Updates, Jan 26 2010

Wireless Plus of Madison, Tennessee let us know that their new installation of a wireless link for a Sheriff’s Department using Carlson Wireless equipment is up and running smoothly. Carlson's Trailblazer Leased Line Emulator microwave radios were used in order to provide backhaul links for a two-way radio system that consists of one transmitting site and two receiver sites, both controlled by signal voters.

In the new install, wired leased line connections (4-wire) that were unreliable and unpredictable were replaced with Carlson Wireless Trailblazer links. Wireless Plus said the former leased line service provider’s MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) was simply unacceptable for such critical communications. The customer needed to find a better solution and take control of the link. The Trailblazer Leased Line replacement with its fixed low latency TrueTDM technology and built-in channel bank was just the simple, affordable solution the customer was looking for. The installation also eliminated the on-going expense of leased line fees – saving the County even more money in the long run while also quickly paying for itself.

Carlson Wireless Sales Engineer Jerry Moore noted, “As repair services are being more and more outsourced by ILECs and as newer technicians are less familiar with 4-wire technology, this is becoming an increasing problem that is prompting many Public Safety Agencies and enterprise facilities to replace wired leased lines with Carlson Wireless Trailblazer links.”
