Carlson Wireless Introduces the Trailblazer Hybrid™ Point-to-Point Digital Radio
ARCATA, CA - Carlson Wireless Technologies announces announces the rollout of the Trailblazer Hybrid™, a point-to-point digital radio providing simultaneous POTS, leased lines and Ethernet data for voice and telemetry applications. The radio operates in the 2.4, 5.4, 5.8 and 4.9 GHz frequency bands and provides perfect wireline quality service beyond existing phone lines. The Hybrid™ will compliment Carlson Wireless’ existing Trailblazer™ line, including the Leased Line™ and the Phoneline Extender™. It is available in a 19 inch rackmount unit or in a rugged and weatherproof outdoor enclosure. Hybrid systems draw low power and are available with solar panels and batteries with up to 7 days of backup power.
Trailblazer™ radios are unique in the digital radio marketplace in two significant ways. First, they incorporate Carlson Wireless’ exclusive TrueTDM™ technology plus IP. TrueTDM™ allows for fully synchronous Time Division Multiplexed data with fixed-latency of less than 4 milliseconds. This eliminates voter comparator conflict issues common with IP only (or TDMoIP) products and provides perfect wireline quality for voice (POTS) as well as 4-wire/E&M signaling. Second, Trailblazers™ are true “plug and play” radios requiring no third party equipment interface. The Hybrid™ includes a built in POTS and 4-wire MUX plus an Ethernet port.
The Hybrid™ allows the user to transmit both analog and digital signaling for compatibility and interoperability today and seamless migration to IP in the future.

We see a lot of these systems used for electrical substation isolation where the Hybrid™ takes the physical phone and data lines out of the picture, eliminating the danger of ground potential rise from that source.”
