James Carlson

CEO & President
Mr. Carlson, who also serves as President for the Company, founded CWT in 1999. Carlson is a recognized designer and entrepreneur in developing, building and marketing fixed-wireless telecommunications systems for remote and rural users around the world. He began building the industry's first products in 1986 at Carlson Electronics and in l990; he founded Carlson Communications, Inc. (CCI) a producer of both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint analog wireless telephone systems sold under the OptaPhone Systems brand name. In 1998, Carlson sold his interest in CCI and it was acquired by Zhone Technologies Inc. Carlson immediately started working with his design team on a new all-digital fixed-wireless technology base from the ground up. In March 1999, he formed Carlson Wireless Technologies, Inc. Carlson has an established track record in wireless startups, including leading R & D to product development, significant growth and profitable sales.

Scott Burger, MBA

Vice President, Marketing and Business Development
Mr. Burger began working in our Sales department in August 2008 and has developed successful relationships with national and international customers. Graduating in August 2009, Mr. Burger earned his MBA from Humboldt State University where he also served as a Graduate Research Assistant in the area of Marketing. Mr. Burger previously served for five years as a radio station General Manager and Assistant Pastor. He has also been a consultant in the area of non-profit broadcasting. In 1998, Scott earned his Bachelors degree in Liberal Studies from Humboldt State University where he conducted multidisciplinary upper division studies in Business, Communications and Broadcast Journalism.

Ron Lowrie

Accounting and Materials Manager
Mr. Lowrie joined Carlson Wireless in January 2007. Mr. Lowrie spent the last seven years with Time Warner Cable, most recently in the Southern California area as Director, Materials Management. At Times Warner Cable, Mr. Lowrie managed an annual procurement budget of $240 million. He is a ten year U.S. Navy veteran with and additional twelve years in inventory control, operations and materials management. Mr. Lowrie has been receiving high reviews from our auditors and is focused on increasing inventory turns and lowering Cost of Goods.

Chris Spoerle

Director of Quality Assurance
Mr. Spoerle joined the company in 2006 and directs our five-star Customer Support Department as well as our Product Quality Control Department. Chris brings many years of electronics experience to Carlson Wireless. For ten years, he was a Motorola service technician working with communications products for the public safety, industrial, and transportation sectors. Chris is also an experienced two-way radio service and repair technician. He holds an Associates Degree in Electronics from College of the Redwoods as well as a Tower Climber Certificate from ComTrain.

Robert Escher

Manager of VAR and Government Sales
Mr. Escher brings over 16 years of experience in Technical System Sales to CWT. He holds a BA in Geography from San Francisco State University. Before joining CWT 6 years ago, Mr. Escher designed and sold complex alarm, CCTV, and access control systems for Sonitrol Security Systems to a range of Bay Area industrial and government customers. Prior to Sonitrol, he worked in Manufacturing Engineering for Perkin-Elmer. Mr. Escher has developed effective dealer network relationships and is now focusing on expanding Government Sales through our GSA Contract.

Gerald (Jerry) S. Moore

Sales Engineer - Telecom Division
Mr. Moore has been actively involved in telecommunications since 1983. As the owner of an interconnect company in Colorado for nearly twenty years, he has served in many capacities, from hands on technician installer to project manager to sales and personnel management and strategic planning. Mr. Moore has extensive experience in telephony hardware including key and PBX systems, hosted systems, and wireless systems – holding multiple certifications. Jerry brings his wide-ranging telephony experience to Carlson Wireless by helping to design and sell point to point microwave wireless solutions. Jerry holds a BS in Business Management from Colorado State University.

Steve Wingate

Senior Engineer
Mr. Wingate joined the company in 2009 and has been involved with our Linux software builds along with extreme testing and providing manufacturing support. Mr. Wingate has over 30 years experience designing and developing electronic equipment. Before joining Carlson Wireless, he worked for Precision Remotes designing and writing firmware for robotics platforms used in military applications. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering specializing in Electromagnetics. Steve was awarded two patents and previously owned and managed a company which manufactured high-end audio products. He has also worked for Hewlett-Packard designing hardware and writing firmware for a laser-based surveying instrument.

Derek J. Kingham

Financial, Operational and Administrative Advisor
With over 25 years experience in complex operations, administration and information technology, Mr. Kingham is a creative critical thinker and problem solver with a total business perspective.
Derek was born and educated in the UK. He graduated from the United World College of the Atlantic and conducted chemical research at the University of Sussex. In 1979 he relocated to the United States where he has held various full time senior management positions in privately held companies ranging in size from 10 to 600 employees. As a manager he is a proven team builder with the ability to develop and motivate others.
