EB™ 4.9i and 4.9e (EB 4.9i and 4.9e)
The Carlson EB™ series delivers a comprehensive range of product features, ensuring fast, secure and reliable networking services.
EB™ radios are integrated, fully functioning 802.1x radios. Units can be configured as an access point, a point-to-point bridge, or a client adapter (CPE). This product is used to provide public safety WiFi networks with the access point being interoperable with other 802.1x devices. The EB™ 4.9 features bandwidth shaping, IP routing and provides DHCP service.
Antenna Options
The EB™ 4.9 is available as an outdoor unit (ODU). The ODU is available with an internal antenna or an N type connector. The "i" version housing contains an integrated panel antenna. The "e" version is equipped with an N type connector to specify antenna dBi appropriate for individual applications.
Dual Ethernet Ports
This allows you to daisy-chain radios at your installation sites (depending on power requirements). Perfect for back to back point to point scenarios. Also great for installing peripheral Power over Ethernet devices like weather monitoring or security cameras.
Tunneling Protocol Support
Includes support for tunneling protocols such as VPN, PPTP, RSA, etc.
Wireless Distribution System (WDS)
WDS allows access points to be wirelessly connected to each other while also servicing clients.
Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA)
WPA improves on the security features of WEP. It includes improved data encryption (AES) and user authentication.
WPA and WEP LEDs
Outside LEDs allow you to easily see if WEP or WPA is activated on your Access Point.
Alignment LEDs
Now you can align your client installations without having to log into the radio. Get visual signal strength at a glance by using this great new feature.
Controllable Gain Output
All ODU and IDU radios have 13 dBm and 20 dBm of output, respectively. Power can be scaled back for closer installations to avoid noise issues and to meet local regulatory requirements.
